Malaika Arora Khan, known as Malaika Arora before her marriage, is an Indian actress, dancer, model, VJ, and television presenter. She is most famous for her dancing in the songs "Chaiyya Chaiyya" and "Munni Badnaam Hui".

Biography

Malaika Arora Khan was born in Chembur, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her parents divorced when she was 11 years old and the family shifted to Chembur. Her mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Catholic and her father, Anil Arora, was a Punjabi native to the Indian border town of Fazilka. Arora worked in the Merchant Navy.

Malaika Arora completed her secondary education at Swami Vivekanand School in Chembur. Her aunt, Grace Polycarp, was the principal of the school. She is also an alumnus of the Holy Cross High School Thane where she studied until ninth grade. She completed her college education from Jai Hind College, Churchgate. She lived in Borla Society, Chembur opposite Basant Talkies before starting her modelling career.

Born to a Punjabi father and Malayali Catholic mother, Malaika Arora started as a MTV VJ when MTV was launched in India. Recognizing her potential, MTV India gave her prime time roles in their shows "Love Line" and "Style Check". She also hosted award ceremonies and concerts on the television channel. After her stint with MTV, Malaika ventured into modeling and became successful in this field too. She has bagged numerous advertisements and item numbers in Bollywood. "Chaiyya Chaiyya" and "Munni Badnaam Hui" are some of her amazing hits.Malaika arora is married to Bollywood actor-director-producer Arbaaz Khan whom she met during a coffee ad shoot and Arbaz proposed to malaika and Together they have a son, Arhaan. Her sister is actress Amrita Arora, and her brothers-in-law are Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Bollywood actor-director-producer Sohail Khan. Her father-in-law is the famous scriptwriter Salim Khan and mother-in-law was an famouse bollywood dancer in early 1970th.

Malaika arora khan appeared as one of the judges in television dance shows "Nach Baliye" along with choreographer Saroj Khan and actor-director-singer Farhan Akhtar, "Nach Baliye 2" with Saroj Khan and director Kunal Kohli, "Zara Nachke Dikha" along with actor Chunkey Pandey and "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" with actress Madhuri Dixit and choreographer Remo D'Souza.

She has done number of item song in such as in Dil se "chal chhaiya chhaiya",Kante "Mahi ve", Houseful2 "Anarkali disco chali", Dabang "Munni badnam hui" Welcom "Hoth rasile" etc.
