She made her first feature film debut in Telugu language from a romantic film Devadasu in 2006 and the film did well at the box office and Devadasu became the year's first major commercial success and it cross over Rs.100 crore and for her performace Ileana D'Cruz get her first Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutant in south cinema.Later She appeared in the film Pokiri opposite telgu superstar Mahesh babu the film was based on gangusters andse played an aerobics teacher charector.The film was a big hit and it was collected financial success,and became highest earner in Telgu cinema at that time.After that Ileana works in lots of telgu and tamil Films before comming to bollywood debut.
In 2012, Ileana made her first hindi bollywood debut from Barfi opposite to Ranbeer Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, in this film she played a bengali girl role and a narrator who fall in love with Ranbeer kapoor. For her performance she like by the critics and she get her first Filma fare award for best actress debut in bollywood in 2012. After bthat she worked in Phata poster nikla hero with Shahid Kapoor, Main tera hero with Varun Dhawan, Happy ending with Saif ali Khan, Currently she working in Rustam with Akhsay Kumar.
